Music Educator/Performer
The power of music has applied to me from my youngest days; for me, it has had influence on the lives of many other people as well, through my teaching and through my performances. Even at age three, I felt the magical pull of music when I climbed over the back fence and followed the Salvation Army Band to the next street, completely entranced by the splendid sound.
Music can change people’s view of life even, it can increase their self-esteem, can increase their happiness. In some instances, music has unfortunately been used to rouse people in divisive ways, for example behind nationalistic causes, but of course, it can also be a tool to unite.
