Artist

Although many people disagree, internally, I have felt at times, powerless. This is despite holding positions of both power and influence. It’s interesting. I guess, we do, as people, hold our own degrees of power and influence. Power can be problematic. Sometimes being in a powerful position can be incredibly challenging.

I find power to be a very interesting dichotomy. I’ve chaired boards and worked with not-for-profits. You do those things when you have an understanding, and you seek an opportunity to better communities. Others might undertake such things purely in the pursuit of power, but these spaces are complex. Artists in particular often need to traverse different strata in our society, and navigating these can be delicate.
