For me, knowledge is power. Having it, collecting more of it and sharing it. I have a thirst for knowledge. I’ve always wanted to know more about people and places and ideas and dreams. I think knowledge can help with empowerment, enlightenment and inspiration — what’s more powerful than that?
With relation to power, I always think of Catherine Helen Spence and the impact she’s had on SA’s history. She fought for equality of women and electoral reform and her work led to SA being the first colony in Australia to give women the right to vote and the first in the world to give women the right to stand for Parliament.
