President of the Adelaide Park Lands Association
Adelaide is the only city in the world built inside a park, a garland of irreplaceable green, and too few people inside the park realise its significance. Our Park Land is a jewel that needs to be treasured and prioritised, home to playgrounds for children, open-air event spaces, and parts that are natural bushland. Each adds to the cultural, social, and environmental uniqueness of Adelaide. There is a lot of research that points to the emotional, spiritual, physical and mental benefits of spending time in nature.
Few would be aware of the powerful efforts of people such as Councillor Frank Lundie or Lewis Cohen who were both fierce protectors of the Park Lands.
