I love examining what European settlers were able to learn from indigenous people; navigation, language and nuances specific to our landscapes and rivers, the untold history that can be unearthed through archaeology.

When I think of powerful South Australians, I think of Professor Simone Tur. When I met her through uni, I learned about the truth-telling and storytelling projects she works across; her words are a form of art, and art is a language without words. Drama, artwork, and photography are intertwined with truth-telling, which is so important to show different aspects of indigenous history, conveying it not just factually, but in ways that allow emotion to be interpreted. She’s an inspiring individual.
