Visual Artist/Aged Care Worker
Power is beyond the material. It can be found in the silence of deep reflection, or the presence of another who truly hears and sees you. There is power in community – electricity flows between us. It is palpable – the excitement generated by conversation and connection. We feel this ‘magical’ power when we are inspired, or working for the greater good. There is power to be found in vulnerability, forgiveness and kindness, in persistence and resilience.
As I age, I become better at self-compassion. It has been useful to repeat the mantra: ‘We can only do our best, with what we have at the time’.
