When I think of power in the context of arts and street performance, these are pursuits that require a certain power over the audience; power to captivate their attention, to surprise them, and influence their emotions.

I feel a powerful connection to the Adelaide Fringe — it’s one of the main reasons I’m here in South Australia. Christie Anthoney and Sandy Verschoor are two figures I credit with a lot of power, and from an organisational point of view, I feel their lasting community impact in the legacy power that the Fringe still holds. We owe a lot to these powerful women in leadership roles.
