Volunteer/Founder of the Gawler History Team

I believe that every individual can achieve great things. This is as true on the world scale as it is at the local level. Great communities are built by individuals putting their hands up and helping out. I have tried to do my part through volunteering (teaching computer skills for 25 years in Gawler), and I would like to believe that I have helped to make my community a little bit better through my efforts.

Grassroots community groups working together can achieve great things. But coming together can be increasingly challenging given the growing constraints of hierarchical, distant (and often self-serving) power structures.
