Musician/Producer/Songwriter
There’s certainly power in music, you see it in how it can change the energy in a room and how everything feels. To be the person on the other side of that microphone, there’s a very real power in that. You’re allowing people to come into a shared form of expression, and you can perform something that changes people’s experiences, their moods, their mindsets, that surely counts as power.
And then there’s that palpable, visceral, perhaps slightly egoic form of power when you have an audience there before you, creating a memory, there’s power in that. I may not necessarily set out to change the world with my music, I’m just looking to connect. And if there’s power in connection, then that’s what I’m after.
