Dorothy (Joan) Durdin

Registered Nurse/Nursing Educator

When I think of power, I like to feel that I have the power to take actions that are important, though I don’t always like other people exerting their power over me!

Many of the foundational lessons of nursing are every bit as powerful today as they were when first I learned them.
It’s some years since I was in positions of authority and responsibility, though when I was an actively involved nurse I felt heavily the responsibility of influencing changes in my patients’ lives, in their ongoing health, both positively or negatively, and their emotional wellbeing throughout treatment and recovery.
