Yacka is a small rural town 40km north of Clare with a long farming history. The History Festival is a great time to visit the town and the old motor garage. Goss’s Motor Garage GM Dealer was built in 1926 to accommodate the introduction of the tractor and motor car, before being renamed to Yacka Motors GMH Dealer in 1948 with the release of the Holden. With a drop off in population and the opening of larger dealers, the garage closed around 1967 until it was bought in 2009 and a long restoration process started. Call in to the garage to chat with Steve about it’s history and ongoing restoration. View early Holdens on display and stroll around the workshop to see equipment, parts, tools and memorabilia. Sit in the comfortable lounges to browse through magazines, books and photographs.
