The House of History: Medieval Pots, Bricks, Gnomes & the Old Gum Tree

Presented by: Dr Noris Ioannou

The history of South Australia is embodied in its ceramics. From humble German potters and working-class English brickmakers, to gentleman industrialists and the upper-class ladies of Adelaide’s early and federation years, Dr Noris Ioannou’s illustrated talk will reveal some of the personal and social stories literally embodied in the artefacts of fired clay that have survived its makers and users.
