Opened in Sept 1973 the Loxton Historical Village celebrates 50 years in 2023. See displays of rural and small town life from 1890s to the 1950s, along with beautiful garden areas suitable for picnic lunches and a shop selling drinks, icecreams and souvenirs.
Come sit at original old desks in our school, try your hand at writing in Cursive. Climb aboard our steam engine, try your hand at knuckle-bones, marbles, hop-scotch and horse shoe toss.
Bus groups welcome and catered lunches, morning and afternoon teas can be arranged.
We offer programs for school groups which includes making damper and butter, rope making, life without electricity, a session in our old school where the teacher, armed with the cane, will take a lesson as children would have had in the early 1900s.
All welcome!
