Second Pastor of Bethlehem (1863-1867), Dr H Loessel was cultured and diligent; his church-filling sermons led to ambitious building plans. His dramatic dismissal led to public claim and counter-claim and a Supreme Court case, while he faithfully served his country parish. Historian Noel Schoff will tell the intriguing story.
