From White Flowers to White Goods: How we Have Celebrated Mother’s Day

The second Sunday of May has been celebrated as Mother’s Day in South Australia since 1909. In the beginning, church goers were simply asked to wear a white flower to honour their mothers, but it soon changed. Come and see how the nature and meaning of Mother’s Day has been affected through the years by commercialism and changing social values.
