Fire and Advance drill at Fort Glanville, Fort Glanville Historical Society

A Day in the Life of a Colonial Soldier

Fort Glanville was the key to South Australia’s defence against hostile attack on our communications in the late-nineteenth century. This is illustrated by the program offered, featuring drill, cannon, and rifle fire. Young visitors may find themselves in a drill squad! The performance is exciting (and noisy) and shows how we have defended our shores since 1880.
