When thinking about power, I did think of people at first, but also the ocean. There are so many things that have power in my life.
Growing up by the beach in the Western suburbs, between Grange and Port Adelaide, I always think of the ocean as one of the most powerful things in the world. Going out there, it’s so much bigger than any of us, it’s so vast, there’s so much of it.
I think of my mum when I think of a powerful figure — crazy, but powerful. She’s incredibly strong, a very strong person, and comes from a strong family. My whole mum’s side is a long line of powerful people, even my grandma — she was really cool.
