Power is so important to my work— it makes the lights work! But of course, there’s power in the theatrical community, and a real intersection between science and art. The scientists who make amazing discoveries are creative people, who exist on the edge of new discoveries. I love the way they think about science, and power, and light (is it a wave or a particle?!). Light surprises me every day…
What I’ve learnt as I got older is the power of art to change lives. Now I’ve worked with audiences of five-year-olds, who think like me, who love the things I love, who view my work in the purest way. I’ve offered a lot of children their first arts experience, and I get to truly feel that I’ve affected their lives.
