James Ashton: Artist of the Fleurieu Coast

A major exhibition of paintings and watercolours by James Ashton (1859-1935), the first in nearly 100 years, includes many works never before seen in public. Sourced from public and private collections, this exhibition will provide a unique opportunity to revisit the work of one of SA’s most prominent and prolific artists. Opening Event: Sun 27 April, 2pm – Kate Pulford, Archivist, Prince Alfred College opens the exhibition. Talk: Sun 4 May, 2pm – Ken Orchard in conversation with Kate Pulford, discussing Ashton’s historical legacy. Talk: Sun 25 May, 2pm – Ken Orchard in conversation with Julia Garnaut, discussing key works in the exhibition.
