Events: making them family friendly

How can you attract families to your museum or History Festival event and give them an experience that will make them want to come back again and again? 

What makes a great event that all the family will enjoy?

In December 2013, History SA is offering two free workshops for anyone interested in creating events that will engage children and families. This workshop is presented by Leisel Underwood (South Australian Museum) and Luke Thurgate (Art Gallery of South Australia). Using examples from their own work, Leisel and Luke will provide an overview of the principles of programming for families and will provide some practical suggestions for small organisations.


This event will be offered in two locations:

Adelaide workshop: Tuesday 3 December, 4-6pm, Art Gallery of South Australia function room, North Terrace, Adelaide

Barossa workshop: Thursday 12 December, 10.30am-12.30pm, Barossa Regional Gallery, 3 Basedow Road, Tanunda
