Join Manal Younus from the comfort of your home and get your creative ideas flowing for the History Festival Poetry Takeover. Manal’s workshop will lead participants through an exploration of language, imagery and emotion to create works of poetry.

‘Think about why your item is important and why you want to talk about it’. ~ Manal Younus

Using conversation, story and various interactive methods, Manal will create a shared learning experience that draws on and adds to the knowledge of participants in the room and on the screen. The only tools you’ll need are internet access, an open mind and your imagination.

Please note: this workshop is for people in years 4-9.

Presenter bio
Manal Younus is Poetry Ambassador for the 2021 History Festival Poetry Takeover. She is an Australian-based storyteller from Eritrea who believes that language and stories make us who we are. Using her writing and performance, Manal explores different aspects of life from perseverance, identity, travel and truth. She has spoken and performed all over the world.
