We at the History Trust of South Australia know event organisers have been eager for news about next year's festival. The wait is finally over: event registrations for South Australia's History Festival for 2021 open Friday 20 November! In keeping with the 2021 festival theme of change, there will be some changes to next year's festival to ensure safety and flexibility.
COVID-19 will still be with us in 2021 so we encourage event organisers to have a digital Plan B where possible and to keep up-to-date with state and federal rules and restrictions on gatherings as we get closer to May.
Taking the digital lead
The biggest change for 2021 will be our fully digital program. This means we won't be restricted by deadlines for a printed program but will insert a smaller printed booklet in The Advertiser. The booklet will promote the festival as a whole but won't list individual events. Each event will still have its own dedicated page on the festival website. Additionally, we're expanding our overall advertising and promotion to ensure the festival gets plenty of exposure during April and May.
More time and resources for organisers
The digital-only program gives organisers a longer registration period and later deadlines for adding events. We'll also have a full marketing kit, along with exclusive info sessions, workshops and webinars available for all event organisers.
