We the Undersigned: Petitions in the Archive

This talk will explore the activism of citizens and residents through petitions found in the collection of the National Archives. Submitted to the Australian government, these petitions range from significant historical movements such as Aboriginal land rights, the Suffragists and protests against the atomic bomb, to more local concerns, such as the closing of post offices or advocacy on behalf of individuals.
