This walk along the banks of Karrawirra Parri at St Peters reveals how the Kaurna lived in harmony with Country, the river and the creeks, and how European settlement from 1836 moulded and changed the landscape from Hackney to St Peters. It explores differing cultural perceptions of the River Torrens and Second Creek, and their association with Kaurna beliefs, contrasted against the story of the South Australian Company at Hackney and the use of the river as a resource for European agricultural and industrial purposes in the new Province of South Australia. Led by Uncle Frank Wanganeen and historian Denise Schumann. Bookings required by phone or email.
