Built in 1909, this beautifully preserved sandstone villa in the heart of Loxton was bequeathed by Mrs Ella Kingdon (nee Thiele) to the community in 2002. The homestead houses a wonderful collection of family possessions and historical artefacts. Be inspired and amazed by fascinating early settlement stories collected in documents and memories. Imagine life back then, waiting for paddle steamers to bring supplies from the Murray River, 300m from the homestead. The vast gardens (unofficially Loxton’s Botanic Gardens) are open daily to the public and are family friendly. Bookings required by phone or email.
