Built of local stone in 1852, and set amidst towering gums, St Michael’s Mitcham is one of the oldest churches in Adelaide. We are a worshipping community with 170 years of heritage. Join a tour at 10.30am featuring the stained-glass windows and treasures of St Michael’s. There will be a noon recital on the magnificent Bishop & Sons organ, as well as music throughout the day.
At 2pm hear an in-depth talk on Barr Smith’s Great East Window and at 3.30pm take a guided walk of the Voitre Marek Stations of the Cross. Learn about our Parish life and the development and uses of our sacred space. See archival displays in adjoining hall, and enjoy Devonshire Tea and a BBQ on the Terrace (costs apply).
