Come and discover the history and beauty of St John’s Church, once known as ‘St John’s in the Wilderness’, the second oldest Anglican church in South Australia. Guides will be available to show you around the church. Learn about its architectural history from its shaky beginnings, resulting in the building of the present church. View the ‘Arts and Crafts’ features of the interior, the memorial artefacts dedicated to the parishioners who served in World War One and marvel at its unique stained glass windows. Learn about some of the interesting former parishioners including a Nobel Prize winner, Lady Bonython, a former South Australian Premier and members of the Ayers family.
