Shedding Light on Peramangk Land – has it really changed? (Sharon Pippos)

Shedding Light on Peramangk Land, Has it Changed?

Celebrate the land of the Peramangk people with Elder Ivan Copley and local Sharon Pippos on the property of ‘The Cedars’, the family home of Sir Hans Heysen. Take a cultural walk to the Peramangk water holes and Bukartila women’s swimming holes for an authentic glimpse of the relationship between the Peramangk people and the eucalyptus trees, their hunting and gathering, and the laws of the land. Compare that relationship with the land to Sir Heysen, the first Australian painter to focus on eucalyptus trees in their true light and form. Heysen often painted 600-year-old trees on this property. Bookings essential.
