Saved, Going, Gone: Heritage and Activism in the Port

As part of the 2023 History Festival, you have a unique opportunity to hop on a guided bus tour of the Port’s heritage. The tour will highlight the importance of community advocacy and persistence, and the Port’s long and proud history of activism. Your tour guides will share the remarkable stories of places our community has saved, as well as those that have been, or are about to be demolished.  You will also visit heritage places that are at risk or likely to be lost.

The Port of Adelaide National Trust was formed 16 years ago in response to community concern about rapid changes and threats to the irreplacable character and heritage of the Port and the Le Fevre Peninsula.
