4th South Australian Imperial Bushmen shortly before embarkation (Wayne Barrie)

Remembering the Anglo-Boer War 1899-1902

The war fought in South Africa 1899-1902 was Australia’s first major war but in popular memory was soon swept aside by the two world wars. Today there is a new interest in the Anglo-Boer War. This program will be of interest to descendants of the men and women who served and anyone interested in the war. It will feature talks, displays from the Army Museum’s collection, and the popular ‘show-and-tell’ segment in which descendants and collectors speak about memorabilia the men brought home from the war. The event will be held in the historic precinct of Keswick Barracks. Guides will direct you upon arrival. Bookings required by phone or email.
