Our Quiet Women Achievers who Empowered a Colourful Community

Since 1836 South Australia has welcomed migrants from 155 countries, and in the 1950s The Good Neighbour Council was set up in SA. We want to celebrate some of the quiet achievers who were often not allowed to step out of the shadows of being a woman in their birth countries. Inspiring change and community, these were women who dared to be more than they were born to be. We hope to inspire you to join us in the ‘HerStory’ movement to hear many stories including Miss Gladys Sym Choon, Mrs Lan Le, Mrs Barbara Porritt, and Ms Manal Younus.
