Open Doors at Old Government House

Tour Old Government House which lies in the heart of Belair National Park. It was the Vice-Regal summer residence from 1861 to 1888, predating Marble Hill. The building stands as an excellent example of Victorian architecture and represents a significant time in South Australia’s history. It is furnished in the grand manner. There are two buildings; the house itself, and the servants’ quarters, all surrounded by an acre of stunning victorian style gardens. The house includes a real surprise, the first indoor plunge pool in South Australia. You can also walk down the hill to visit the Commissioners’ Shack, see the well which was used by the servants as the only source of water. Price includes afternoon tea.
