One Crowded Hour, from Prince Alfred to Lionel Logue and James Ashton

Presented by Prince Alfred College and the City of Norwood Payneham and St Peters, an inspirational behind the scenes glimpse at the rich history and heritage of Prince Alfred College (est. 1869) and the Wesleyans in Kent Town, Norwood, and St Peters. Historian Denise Schumann will discuss the role of the Wesleyans as a socially progressive force in Adelaide’s East. College Archivist Kate Pulford will lead a special guided tour providing rare access to tangible cultural heritage items relating to HRH Prince Alfred Duke of Edinburgh, Lionel Logue (The King’s Speech) and painter James Ashton, College Art Master of 40 years. Our receptionist will be happy to guide you through the COVID-safe check-in process on arrival. Please allow time for this prior to the event. Bookings essential.
