Although Belair is close to the city today, it was a world away in 1860 when Old Government House was built as a vice-regal summer retreat. Today the quaint little mansion is part of Belair National Park filled with furniture from the time. Our tour includes the downstairs swimming pool and morning tea. The pretty garden is an introduction to several hills heritage gardens – Gamble Cottage Garden, Ashby’s Blackwood Estate (now Wittunga Botanic Garden), and the formal gardens and orchard of Carrick Hill at Springfield. Bookings essential.
