Mary MacKillop Walk: The Kensington-Norwood Connection to Mary’s Story

If you like historic walking trails, the Kensington-Norwood Mary MacKillop Walk is for you! These suburbs became an important part of Mary MacKillop’s story. She lived here for 11 years (1872-1883). Much-loved figures in the local community, Mary and her Sisters reached out to the destitute and unloved – regardless of their age, religious background or personal story.

“The heart and soul of Mary MacKillop and the Josephite Order are an essential part of the rich history of the district.” (Council footpath plaque – Mary MacKillop Walk, Stop #7)
