Luhrs Cottage Museum: Original German Settlers Home

The event will begin at Strait Gate Church Hall opposite Luhrs Cottage Museum for afternoon tea. Continue the journey with a guided tour of Luhrs Cottage Museum, a pug and straw dwelling that was built by JH Luhrs (c. 1846), the first teacher in Light Pass. Restored in 1984, the four-roomed cottage displays early German artefacts. Tour the schoolroom, cellar and shed. The cottage also holds an amazing history of Light Pass.
