John Hill, First European to Explore the Clare Valley 1839

Historian Max Slee will present an informative presentation in the Clare Hotel on the first European to visit the Clare Valley in 1839. John Hill, the long-ignored explorer, named several mid-north rivers, including the Wakefield and Hutt Rivers. A collection of new and secondhand books with an emphasis on history will be on offer in the foyer of the Clare Town Hall before the talk (10am-3pm). Bookings required by phone or email.
