Who invented Waterproof Shoreline? Henry Hoke of course! (Mark Thomson)

Henry Hoke's Nautical Inventions

Henry Hoke, one of Australia’s greatest but least known inventors, spent a significant part of his life working in the Merchant Marine. In that capacity, he invented a number of nautical mainstays such as Waterproof Shoreline or his Ship’s Foghorn Tuning Pipe. During his lifetime there was scant recognition of those marvels yet the stories and myths about the man continue to accumulate. At this event, guests will be invited to share their own stories of Henry’s maritime works, including any new inventions that have surfaced. Bookings essential.
