German Adelaide: North Adelaide

Whether on top of the hill or along Melbourne Street, German Australians lived and made their mark in North Adelaide. Take a jaunt through North Adelaide’s shady streets and discover its German ‘unterbelly’. These easy two-hour walking tours are designed to uncover forgotten history, with just a touch of humour. Visit the three villages and their high streets, and see the remaining examples of German architecture in the city! Tour uses personal audio system for clarity and social distancing. Guide: Ben Hollister. Can’t make it in person? Check the on-demand virtual tours at the History Helper website! Bookings essential.
