Gawler's House of Books

The house located at 7 Main Road, Willaston has had a long and proud association with books – from bookkeeping and racehorse racing to books about the history of Gawler. This presentation by local historian Helen Hennessy will introduce you to the many characters who have called this house their home, including Adcock, Willington, Coombe, Garibaldi, Hemmerling, Hennessy and Sadler. The house today sits within the Willaston Historic Precinct and was featured in the 2008 International Booksellers Federation calendar, a calendar that showcases beautiful bookshops of the world.
